Fire Codes & Inspection

Inspectors from the Department of Fire and Emergency Management perform annual Fire Safety Inspections of all commercial and multifamily structures throughout the Township. Inspections identify risks before they become emergencies and ensure that all fire suppression, detection, and warning devices meet the requirements according to current codes and ordinances. The Department notifies building/business owners of any violations, who must then correct them within 45 days.

A fee is charged for each inspection as outlined here in the fee schedule.

Please see the home and business safety checklists below to ensure that your building is safe.
