Summer Rec FAQs

If you do not find the answer to your question here, please call the Department of Parks & Recreation at 215-750-3890.

No. Parents provide transportation for local trips, within 10 miles. Buses are provided for any trips outside of the local area.

No. We understand that you may want to be involved or have concerns. However, for logistical and safety reasons, we are unable to accommodate parents on our field trips. Rest assured, we have experienced and trained staff members who will be supervising and caring for the campers during the trip. Our ratio is 10 campers to 1 counselor.

No. Field trips are included in the registration fee.

If you would like to change or add weeks, please call our office at 215-750-3890.  You may also call us to make payments if you are adding weeks or adding extended day options. Please let the site supervisor know of these changes once you have completed payment. Changes are for complete weeks only, not partial weeks.

We will send email reminders the day before a field trip or on-site activity. The “Remind” app is also used the day of a trip, activity or cancellation. Cancellation of half day, due to weather, will be announced no later than 7:30AM. Please load the Remind app at the beginning of the season to stay informed. Instructions to load the app can be found at  All-Camps-Remind-2024.pdf

Each camp site has a lost and found. Speak to the Site Supervisor about your child’s lost item. Please make sure to LABEL ALL OF YOUR CHILD’S BELONGINGS and check the lost and found each day, as they can get full quickly. Items not claimed one week after camp ends will be donated.

Trips will be announced before camp starts on June 17th

a.       Half day campers should come each day with a refillable water bottle, sunscreen, a snack, and a change of clothes in case of water play or emergency.

b.       Full-day campers should come each day with a refillable water bottle, sunscreen, two snacks, and a change of clothes in case of water play or emergency, as well as a lunch.

c.       On field trip days, there may be opportunities to purchase items and/or snacks. If you choose to send your child with money, it is their responsibility.

a. This process requires you to go to the check in table. We are willing to make accommodations for any guardian needing assistance. Please contact the Parks and Rec office to let them know, or add a note in your authorized pick-up form.

b. Each camp site has iPads for our sign in and sign out process. The site supervisors/counselors will be at the same location daily for pick up and drop off. Make sure to fill out the iPad each day so we have records of who is picking up the campers.

c. Be sure to have the required forms completed before camp starts.

d. Campers will not be released to anyone that is not on the Pickup Authorization Form (on RecDesk) unless a note is provided to the Site Supervisor.

Campers’ lunches should be similar to what you would pack for a school lunch. Refrigerators, microwaves and utensils are not available. Please be sure to plan lunches accordingly.

We have 3 required forms at www.middletownbucks.org/recdesk. The forms are the health form, authorized pick-up form, and bus waiver.  These forms are important for our site supervisors to have medical and allergy information, contact information, and pick up permission for all campers. Can’t find the forms? We are fortunate to use Lower Makefield Township (LMT) Pool for our swim days. We swim on Friday mornings, weeks 2-7. There is an “Intermediate Pool” that is only 2.5 - 3.5 ft. for campers that prefer a more relaxed swim. Only Coast Guard approved floatation devices are allowed. Goggles are allowed but masks with nose covering are not. Goggles may not be worn on the slides. There is also an “Olympic Pool” that is 3.5 – 12 ft., with two slides and diving boards. All campers must pass a swim test to receive a bracelet which allows them to enter this pool.
