The Board of Auditors is a three-member board that is elected by the public. Members are elected to serve six-year terms.

The Citizens’ Traffic Commission (CTC) advises the Board of Supervisors on transportation, pedestrian, parking, and other transportation-related issues. The CTC works with the Administration, Police Department, Department of Public Works, and traffic engineers to assess resident concerns and recommend solutions to the Township. The CTC meets the second Tuesday of each January, April, July, and October.

The Environmental Advisory Council (EAC) advises the Board of Supervisors on matters concerning the conservation and preservation of natural resources, such as wetlands or flood plain areas, throughout the Township. The EAC is also responsible for organizing bi-annual tree plantings and Beautification Committee road cleanups.

The EAC meets the fourth Wednesday of every month at 6:30 p.m.

The Financial Advisory Committee advises the Board of Supervisors, Township Manager, and Finance Director on financial management policies. Their main focus is overseeing the management of the Township’s Investment Fund.
The Financial Advisory Committee meets on the second Wednesday of January, April, July, and October at 7 p.m.

The Historic Preservation Commission identifies and encourages preservation of historically significant structures in the Township. They advise Township staff and the Board of Supervisors regarding properties listed as historically significant.
If you wish to have a property designated as historically significant or make alterations to a property currently listed as historically significant, please make a request by email or by calling 215-750-3842.
The Historic Preservation Commission meets on an as-needed basis.

In 2020, the Middletown Township Board of Supervisors created the Middletown Human Relations Commission (HRC) and charged it with the task of addressing discrimination in the township, merging the board with the previously-established Disabled Persons Advisory Board. 
 
The HRC conducts public trainings, educational sessions, informational seminars, and community activities to promote diversity, equity and inclusion in Middletown Township.  The HRC works with the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission to address complaints made by Middletown residents related to discrimination in housing, employment and public accommodations.  If you believe you have been the subject of  unlawful discrimination, or to report an issue to the HRC, please contact HRC liaison, Township Manager Stephanie Teoli Kuhls.

The Parks & Recreation Board oversees Township parks and open space, establishes and implements recreation activities, and plans future recreation opportunities in the Township.
The Parks & Recreation Board meets the second Monday of every month at 6 p.m.

The Planning Commission reviews zoning, subdivision, and land development applications that have been submitted to the Township. The Commission acts in an advisory capacity to the Board of Supervisors regarding all planning and zoning issues. They typically meet the first Wednesday of every month at 7 p.m.

The Youth Aid Panel (YAP) an alternative to the juvenile court system for first-time juvenile offenders, allowing them to avoid a criminal record in exchange for completed assignments. The YAP assignments can include community service, book reports, completion of safety courses, and others. The Panel’s goal is to prevent juvenile offenders from continuing delinquent behavior while making them responsible for their actions through service to the victim and/or community.
Officer Melissa Robison is the YAP Coordinator for the Police Department, and the volunteer coordinator is Heather Hadry.

The Zoning Hearing Board hears appeals to decisions of the Zoning Officer and requests for variances from the Zoning Ordinance. They are empowered by state law to make determinations and grant variances and special exceptions to requirements of the Zoning Ordinance. The Zoning Hearing Board meets the second and fourth Wednesdays of every month and 7 p.m.
