As the Fourth of July nears, please remember that there are virtually no locations in Middletown Township where fireworks can be legally discharged. Our police department and fire marshal’s office will be increasing patrol and enforcement through the holiday.
Please remember the following important reminders when celebrating this year:
- Fireworks cannot be discharged within 150 feet of any property line or occupied structure, regardless of whether there is a person inside, or property line (This is approximately half of a football field).
- Discharging fireworks is prohibited on all public property, including streets, parks, schools, and open spaces.
- Fireworks cannot be discharged within or toward a motor vehicle or building, or by anyone under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
- Fireworks cannot be discharged on private property without express permission of the property owner.
