With many vacation options being cancelled over the past year due to COVID-19 restrictions, recreational vehicle (RV) sales and first-time RV buyers have increased dramatically. In order to help those who are new to RVing, as well as long time RV'ers, MTPD will be offering several RV inspection and education opportunities.
Traffic Safety and Commercial Vehicle Inspection Officers will inspect RVs and towing vehicles for any safety concerns including weighing the camping units to ensure they are following weight requirements and provide advice and guidance on how to correct any safety concerns discovered. MTPD will not be issuing citations for any violations noted, but rather will educate and inform RV'ers of potential safety concerns so they may remedy them.
The inspections will be held in the front parking lot of the Middletown Township Police Department building at 5 Municipal Way on Saturday, April 10th, from 8am until 4pm. Inspections will take about 30 minutes and will be scheduled by appointment in order to minimize wait times. If you have any questions about this program or would like to schedule an inspection time for April 10th, please contact Captain Pete Feeney at 215-750-3879 or pfeeney@mtpd.org.
