Middletown Township was awarded a grant of $85,000 from the Transportation and Community Development Initiative (TCDI) by the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC).
The funding will be used to develop a Multimodal Improvement Plan, a consolidated strategy for expanding safe access to alternative forms of transportation, including sidewalks, bike lanes, public transportation, and other alternatives to single occupancy vehicles. Transportation is the single-largest source of greenhouse gas emissions in Middletown Township. This plan will advance other means of transportation in the community to reduce transportation-related emissions and create more equitable access to transportation for all residents.
This TCDI funding will not only advance the Township’s specific goals, but also help advance the regional goal of becoming a community that is more sustainable, resilient, and equitable.
