Yard waste collection will resume in Middletown Township beginning April 1, 2026.
Residents can place yard waste at the curb for weekly pickup on the same day as their trash and recycling collection. Service will continue through January.
What’s Collected
Yard waste includes materials generated through routine outdoor maintenance, such as:
- Grass clippings
- Leaves
- Prunings and branches
- House plants
- Fruits and vegetables
- Other garden-related debris
There is no limit to the amount of yard waste that can be collected on your designated day.
Special Collection: Christmas Trees
Christmas trees will be collected on your regular service day throughout the month of January.
Please remember:
- Remove all decorations, lights, and stands
- Do not place trees in plastic bags
How to Prepare Yard Waste
To ensure collection, please follow these guidelines:
- Use biodegradable paper bags or containers clearly labeled “Yard Waste”
- Acceptable containers include:
- 30-gallon biodegradable paper bags
- Rigid containers (20–35 gallons) with handles and removable lids
- Each bag or container must weigh no more than 50 pounds
🚫 The following are not accepted:
- Plastic bags
- Biodegradable plastic bags
- Cardboard boxes
Branches & Bundling
- Branches must be no more than 6 inches in diameter
- Bundle branches into 4-foot lengths
- Place bundles neatly at the curb next to yard waste containers
Important Reminder
Please do not rake leaves or yard waste into the street, as this can clog storm drains and impact roadway safety.
