At its August 10, 2026 meeting, the Middletown Township Board of Supervisors officially adopted the Township’s Communications Plan, establishing a strategic framework for how Middletown communicates with residents, businesses, community partners, and other stakeholders.
The Communications Plan is designed to strengthen the Township’s commitment to providing clear, timely, accurate, and accessible information to the community. It also provides guidance for maintaining consistent communication across the Township’s various platforms, including the Township website, social media, email communications, public notices, and other outreach efforts.
Building Stronger Connections with the Community
Effective communication plays an important role in keeping residents informed and connected to their local government. The Communications Plan provides a roadmap for continuing to improve how information is shared while ensuring residents have multiple opportunities to stay informed about Township programs, services, projects, meetings, events, emergencies, and other important updates.
The plan focuses on several key areas, including:
- Providing timely and accurate information to the public
- Maintaining consistent messaging and branding across Township communications
- Improving accessibility and transparency
- Strengthening the Township’s digital communication platforms
- Expanding opportunities for community engagement
- Establishing best practices for social media, website content, media relations, emergency communications, and other public information
- Evaluating communication efforts and identifying opportunities for continued improvement
The plan will serve as a guide for Township staff as Middletown continues to enhance its communication efforts and adapt to the evolving ways residents receive and engage with information.
